Elaine Silverstein – Join horticulturist Elaine Silverstein on Monday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m. on Zoom to learn about “Sustainability in the Home Garden”

Temple Israel & JCC’s ongoing lecture series

Focusing on lawn care, compost making, and recycling fall leaves, this talk
covers specific things homeowners can do to make their properties greener,
cleaner, and cheaper and easier to maintain. Learn to avoid lawn- and garden-
care practices that are scientifically outmoded and actually harmful to the
environment and to substitute eco-friendly methods instead.
Participation is free and everyone is welcome.

Long-time Temple Israel & JCC member Elaine Silverstein is a professional horticulturist certified in Sustainable Landscape Management by the NY Botanical Garden, where she continues to study horticulture, ecology, and
botany. She has a horticulture practice in the Glen Rock/Ridgewood area focusing on sustainability and designing gardens based on native plants. She also serves as co-chair of the Glen Rock Shade Tree Advisory Committee.
