 On May 1st and May 2nd\, Temple Israel in Ridgewood will feature Cantor Is
 idoro Abramowicz\, Cantor at the Pestalozzistrasse Synagogue and Director 
 of the Cantorial School at the Abraham Geiger College in Berlin Germany.\n
 \nCantor Abramowicz will bring his cantorial melodies joining Rabbi David 
 Fine on Friday night and Saturday morning May 1 and 2 with the accompanime
 nt of Dr. Ralph Selig on the organ. The Cantor’s melodies reflect his he
 ritage in Argentina where Rioplatense Spanish is spoken. Rioplatense Spani
 sh is characterized by a unique accent heavily influenced by Italian immig
 ration. It is often described as having a musicality similar to Italian di
 alects.\n\nThis Scholar in Residence program is funded by the Rabbi Selig 
 Salkowitz Distinguished Lecture Fund. Participation is free and everyone i
 s welcome.\n\nCantor Isidoro Abramowicz is originally from Buenos Aires\, 
 Argentina. He is Cantor at Berlin’s Pestalozzistrasse Synagogue. The Abr
 aham Geiger College\, of which Cantor Abramowitz was a 2013 graduate and i
 s now Director of its cantorial school\, was founded in 1999 as the first 
 liberal seminary in Continental Europe since the Shoah.\n\nCantor Abramowi
 cz attended the Tel Aviv Cantorial Institute in 2012. He also attended the
  University of Potsdam in Germany and he studied piano at the National Uni
 versity of the Arts in Argentina. He divides his time between Germany and 
 Israel.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;
