Temple Israel Inaugurates Online Community

We at Temple Israel want to put more "community" in our Jewish Community Center. To that end we have a created a web site which offers our members the opportunity to join together in an online community. This online community is in effect a bulletin board allowing any of our members to post announcements, queries or requests. Examples of such postings might be:

1)     Seeking a ride for your child back to college after break.

2)     Offering an older pair of kosher Tefillin to anyone in need of same.

3)     Looking for players for a Bridge game on Wednesday afternoons.

4)     Need a low-fat recipe for potato latkes.

In any case, let your imagination run wild.

In order to join this "community", you must register at the Yahoo Groups Web site. A group with the name tijcc_members has been created on the site.

Prospective group members may subscribe to the group by using the link:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tijcc_members   (please note underscore, not dash, in tijcc_members)

If you already have a Yahoo ID, i.e., an email address at yahoo.com, you may merely enter your ID and password and request member approval.

If you do not have a Yahoo ID, or you do not want to receive postings at your Yahoo email address, you must request and complete an ID application. [Actually, for the latter you can use the same Yahoo ID and follow the options to use an alternate e-mail address.] There are two boxes that may be unchecked in the application. If you already have an email address and do not want a Yahoo Email address, uncheck the box requesting the Yahoo email address, and enter your existing address in the Alternate Email field.  The other box refers to receiving special offers, etc. and may be checked or unchecked at your discretion.

After your membership request has been received by the tijcc_members group moderator, approval notification will be sent to your email address.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Any questions? Forward them to tijcc_members-owner@yahoogroups.com
